Philippe: Pag-usapan natin bro, careers, jobs, and people looking for jobs.

Mclaine: May opportunity pero masyado sila mapili when it comes to trabaho.

Philippe: These days, people are too choosy, they’re too demanding, they’re being influenced.

Nakakalimutan nila yung traditional way na if you want something, you need to work for it. So, kala nila madali pero on the job, it’s not na. Ay, di pa lang madali.

Philippe: Yeah, highest paying, HMO, good benefits, may government benefits, sign up bonus. Sa Bpo na ako.

Philippe: Pag-usapan natin bro, yung about careers, jobs, and people looking for jobs. We were looking into stats, statistics ng hirings recently. So, I’ll tell you something funny that happened kasi. Meron yung agency na kaya tie-up natin. Nagkaroon sila ng campaign to hire for multiple companies.

I believe that was in Cebu’s Visayas, right? Anyway, nagkaroon ng campaign for hiring in multiple areas.

Philippe: They were expecting around a thousand kasi sila nag pre-register na pupunta sila. Ay, sorry, not a thousand — five thousand pre-registered kasi multiple areas. So, meron tayo: Davao City, Cebu, Aguinaldo.

Mclaine: Kabuuan na yung five thousand.

Philippe: Yes. Yan yung online campaign. So, nag-boost sila sa Facebook. It’s a hiring campaign.

Kasi isang company lang naman siya. Sabi daw nila, sige, pupunta kami. Kasi on that site, kasama nila yung kliente ng agency. Kasi on that, pag qualified ka, hired ka na. Kung baka hired on the spot, right? Pero, syempre, may mga proseso pa. Anyway, five thousand applicants pre-registered.

Philippe: Sabi, pupunta. Pagdating nila, the total amount that came out of the five thousand was literally half. Even less than half. Mga two, three. Madami pa din. Mga pumunta, they went through the process interview and everything. So, yung kalahati nun, which is about one thousand plus, more or less, pasado.

The rest, hindi sila pasado. What’s funny is that, okay, from five thousand plus, naging two-eight. So, yung mga pasado, ano next step? Processing ng requirements.

Philippe: After a few days, yung mga one-eight, nakalahati ulit. Naging eight hundred plus na lang. Seven hundred, eight hundred plus. Dahil sa requirements, after the requirements, yung mga nagpasa, yung mga seven to eight hundred na applicants na nagpasa, they went through training.

Philippe: Three hundred na katao na nag-start ng first day. After one week, meron nag-awol. After the first day, meron hindi na pumasok. Ilan na tira? Less than kalahati ulit. Nasa ninety plus na lang. Imagine from five thousand plus to eighty to ninety applicants, the next day.

You don’t know even for the first month. Baka kalahati yun noon. Ayaw na. But this is stats ng total regions. Total regions, total amount that applied and everything. Why are we discussing this today? And, pag may trabaho, may opportunity na.

Mclaine: May reklama pa.

Or, pag pumasok na sila, after a week or after a month, ayaw na nila. Saan yung problema?

Mclaine: Mindset.

Philippe: Isa pa yun? Pero there was also another factor daw. Nasusulot daw yung ibang company. Pero may factor lang, konti. Pero not major factor. Pero nasusulot daw. So, for example, kasi itong mga hiring, provincial eh.

So, merong, paano sila masusulot is, oh, provincial rate kayo dito? Same type of job, province eh.

Philippe: For example, let’s say 100 kailangan, napuno na yung 100. So, yung mga ibang late na, oh, Manila rate daw to.

So, the main question is, yun nga, sabi mo, mindset. So, ano kaya dapat? Kasi, one of the main reasons why… Imagine we have a tiger economy. As people, economists say, we have a tiger economy.

But, because, the only reason we have a tiger economy is because of we are a big consumer market. Ang Pinas is a big consumer market. Every day may Lazada, Shopee, TikTok. Every single day. Laging ganoon. Kahit walang pera, meron pa din pang Lazada, Shopee, TikTok. Right? We’re not economically strong.

Philippe: Correct me if I’m wrong. Anyone out there who’s an economist, correct me if I’m wrong. We’re not a strong economy because we have lots of jobs. But, in fact, we have lots of… We’re a big consumer market. What more, if we accept the jobs, we pay more taxes.

If you’re in the range of 20,000 or below, wala kang tax. So, minimum wages don’t have income tax. Unless, mas mataas sila sa minimum. That’s the time they start paying tax.

Philippe: But, the point there is, how can we fix the mindset of people na kahit hindi para sa’yo yung trabaho, magtrabaho ka. Kasi walang wala ka. Di ba? Wag ka umasa lang sa ayuda. Right? So, how can we fix that?

Mclaine: Well, yun nga.

After one week, parang mikirap na.

So, yung needs and wants, doon din pumapasok.

Where in fact, even doing content creation, mahirap. Mas mahirap nga. Mas matagal pa. Right? Eh, they’re so entitled na they think they have the option to choose.

Philippe: Ang choosing nga nila. You know? Balik tayo sa mga ano. Okay, dito. Luzon. Mga kasambahay. And this one, this is so accurate. This is very accurate kasi online, on Facebook specifically, ang dami kong groups ng kasambahe that I own, that I admin. Literally ang dami. I have one in each city in Metro Manila.

So from Quezon City, from San Juan, Montinlupa, Marikina, Antipolo, all that. I have all the groups. And each of those groups has a minimum of 20,000 members. Pinakamalaki ko is Quezon City which is around 70,000 I believe. Anyway, the mere fact I know about this is because pag nag-post ako, let’s say, kunyari hiring ako.

Philippe: Ang minimum nang minimum wage ng kasambahe ngayon that is by labor, by what the labor code is, what the Department of Labor suggested is 7,000. Let me double-check on that. So yung 7,000 na yan, that’s Manila rate.

That’s Manila rate, yeah. So minimum wage kasambahe 2025, yep, 7K. May announcement to. It’s 7K. So ngayon, if you were to hire 7K, pag nag-post ka na o hiring 7K ka na, ang dami na kukoment, ano ba yan, wala lang 7K na ganyan, ganyan, ganyan, ganyan. Tama naman. Tama naman.

Philippe: Okay. The problem is when yung mga nag-a-apply pag na-interview na sila, either walang requirements, either medyo sketchy yung profile, walang profile picture, walang friends, dami account, dammy account. Tapos, ano mo, very sketchy.

Tapos pag in-interview mo pa, ayaw ng video call, pag tinanong may requirements mo, wala. Di ba? Sa mga, sa mga ano, at bare minimum, that’s the problem. Sa mga kasambahay lang ito, pero bare minimum, sa minimum wagers, sa nakita trabaho sa mo, required talaga requirements, papers, NBI clearance and all, required medical, if possible.

Philippe: Pero sa mga kasambahay, you pay the bare minimum, but you also get the bare minimum of what you could, in terms of quality. Walang ID, walang Facebook profile, walang ayaw mag, ayaw, walang load pang video call, ayaw, as in lahat ayaw. Choosy pa. Di ba? Sige, next, next level.

Same, same thing. Yung iba, makakita mo, oh, may tutong picture, may family, everything.

Philippe: The sweet spot, where we found a quality, in terms of quality, may requirements, maayos ka usap, maayos ugali, nasa 10K, steep yan, sa mga ano. But, quality, you get what you pay for talaga. Yung na-hire namin, hindi lang complete requirements. College graduate.

Mclaine: Over-qualified.

Philippe: May work experience na, as a minimum wager, and corporate. Private sector pa. How come? How come? Kompleto credentials, you have a good educational background, pero you’re there for I’m not questioning that.

Maybe you kailangan, maybe you have to. Pero when I interviewed that person, ano mo sabihin sa akin? Wala na nag-hire sa akin. Ayaw nila akong i-hire. Anong gagawin ko? Mag-gutom ba ako? May anak ako, may pamilya ako.

Philippe: Hindi pwedeng nakatabay lang ako, nakaabang lang ako. Kawawa. But, ayaw niya mag-gutom. So kahit mawabayag, kaka-cut it niya at P10K. At least meron. Hindi ka tulad ng iba. Wala naman tumatanggap ng P10K, dapat P12K na yan.

Mclaine: May opportunity, pero masyado sila mapili when it comes to trabaho.

Philippe: Dito ka mag-igil. Nag-trip lang ako. P15K per month. Dilagay ko exactly ano requirements. Kailangan number one, NBI. And then the rest, number two, kailangan interview, kailangan kausapin. P15,000.

So dami na nag-message. May 13-month, may bonus, may ganyan-ganyan. Sabi ko, opo. Sige sir, apply ako. Sabi ko, okay.

Philippe: Pero ang dami niya kong tanong. Sir, may ganito, may aso ba? May ganito. May sariling kwarto, may ganito. Ayos to. So, di ba? Eh, okay na. Nasagot ko na sa’yo. Okay.

Sige. Let’s go with the process. Di ba? My turn. Ate, may requirements kayo. Kailangan ko NBI, CV, syaka ano. Dapat, meron ka ng SSS, PhilHealth, and whatever numbers. Pag-ibig, numbers. Dapat naka-prepare na siya. Kasi yan yung required. Na suppose, it’s so clear.

Philippe: Tapos yung ID, dapat may primary ID ka. Hindi ako tatanggap ng TIN ID or PhilHealth ID. Basta, primary. Any government ID could be lisensya, it could be national ID pa, it could be that kasi very easy and fast na yun.

Mclaine: And may digital na siya.

Philippe: Yun pa yun. May digital. Sabi mo nga, may digital. Easy access na siya. Wala po, sir. Para, what the? Diba? Ang demanding mo. Tapos, ngayon, you have a high-paying, compared sa ibang kasama, you have a high-paying opportunity, salary opportunity.

Diba? Wala akong pang-NBI.

Philippe: Kung gusto mo ng trabaho, gawan mo ng paraan. Right? I’m not saying the, I’m not saying it was a bogus post. It’s not a bogus post. Totoo yan. If somebody came with complete requirements, probably paid. Pero siyempre, comes, it comes, it boils down to your number one, your performance mo.

And, kung talaga magaling ka. Pero, ang first stages for applying is dapat, kumpleto ka na ng requirements. So, yung iba, nag-a-apply, apply, apply. Whether sa corporate, sa call center, kasambahay or wherever, nag-a-apply.

So, number one, diba?

At least meron kang CV. Kung wala kang CV, that’s fine. At least meron kang ID. Right?

Diba? Pwede po ano. Dishwasher, yeah. Dishwasher! Anong qualifications kailangan?

Anong pambihira yan I’ve never seen like, apply ka dishwasher. Anong experience mo? Dapat meron kang minimum 10 years experience of washing dishes. Diba? In fact, may ganoon.

Philippe: Nakakatawa, I saw a post na dapat, for example, ang sa… Natawa ko dito. Salary is starting minimum. Pero dapat, meron kong 10 years of experience in that certain field.

Philippe: Eto, national ID. May national ID ako. Diba? Ay, hindi valid yan. Paano nangyayi hindi valid?

Mclaine: At least, they could sue yung company na yun. Pag sinabi hindi valid ang national ID. Kasi, yun yung sinabi ng batas. Anyone or any institution na pag consent mo yung national ID mo at hindi tinanggap, pwede mo silang i-reclaim.

Philippe: What the hell? Anong… Nangyari kasi yan hindi private company. Government agency din. That was the problem before. But this was, I think, last year. Pero ngayon, I think, tanggap na lahat.

Pero yung… I forgot what government agency that was. Pero nakakatawa kasi. Ay, sir, kailangan yung ID para ano. Eto, national ID. Ay, hindi sir, hindi yan valid. Ha? Hindi valid.

Mclaine: I think, ano yata yan? Nag-circulate yata yan sa social media.

Philippe: It did. I just can’t remember which government agency that denied that specific person for application of whatever. Hindi ko alam kung pag-ibig. I don’t know. I don’t know. I wasn’t sure about that. Pero it was funny enough na kailangan mo ng ID na valid ID na national ID was not a valid ID. So nakakatawa lang yan.

Going back, yun. I think our fellow countrymen are so entitled. Mapride.

Ano ba yun? Yung mga nag-memessage na parang, Oh, pwede ka kumita ng 2,000 to 3,000 per day. Anong usually ginagawa dito? May idea?

Mclaine: Actually, I’ve tried.

Philippe: Okay. What happened?

Mclaine: Multiple times. Ano siya? Magla-like ka lang ng post.

Philippe: Yun lang?

Mclaine: Ahh hindi pala post Let’s say, isang, let’s say, Shane.

Philippe: Okay.

Mclaine: Merong product, po-post nila, ila-like mo. One like, for as low as 20 pesos. So, agent siya, may agent.

Magla-like, screenshot mo, send mo sa kanila. So, you need at least 3. Pag naka-3 kaso, 20, 60. 60 payout agad yun through GCash.

Philippe: Pero sa totoo, binabayaran ka?

Mclaine: Yes. Binabayaran. Pero may catch

Philippe: What is it?

Mclaine: Meron silang, so, parang, pag naka-60 ka, meron siyang task. Task 5, pang 6, kailangan mo na mag-ano, mag-invest. Meron na silang investment scheme, for as low as 800 pesos. That is the minimum investment. Kailangan mo mag-send nang magbayad ng ano.

Philippe: Para kumita ka?

Mclaine: No. So, magbayad ka ng 800, after 5 to 10 minutes.

Philippe: Okay.

Mclaine: in 5 to 10 minute processing, ibabalik nila yun, meron ka ng 1,020 or 1,250. Parang, minsan, basta ang kita mo sa 800, minsan mga patak from 250 to 350.

Philippe: So, hindi na siya like-like ng post?

Mclaine: Yun yung process nila. So, task 6, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, yun lang yung like. So, kung 20, 20, 20. Ang cash-out nila is lagi pag nakaabot ka ng 60 pesos.

Philippe: Interesting

Mclaine: Pero, that is, meron siyang duration. One task is 20 to 25 minutes. So, kailangan makapag-like ka or may send mo sa kanya within 25 minutes. Pag hindi, not counted. Pag hindi ka nakapag-post or nakapag-send ng una, bawas yun.

Kung that is 30 pesos, magiging, oh, 20 pesos na lang siya. So, the succeeding is 20 na lang. So, I’ve tried multiple times. May mga ganoon. The highest paying nung nagsimula pa lang to, 60 pesos per like. So, I was earning around, maysan, 700 a day.

Philippe: What an interesting experimental, I love what you’re doing.

Kasi, I skipped those 800. I tried it once. Okay. 800, mag-send ako. Kinabahan ako. Bakit?

Magsa-sign in ka. Create ka ng account. Sasend mo doon yung ano. And then, ibabalik nila.

Sabi ko, oh, my God. Sabi ba. Mindset ko, na-scam ako. So, I just followed the process. After 10-15 minutes, pumasok, bumalik. Sabi ko, oh, thank you.

Philippe: Pero bumalik sayo si 800?

Philippe: Or more?

Mclaine: Bumalik

Mclaine: More. Plus 350. So, that’s 1,250.

Philippe: What happened after that? After kumita ka?

Mclaine: Yun yung pinaka-lowest. Hindi ka na ulit. After another 5 tasks, on the 6th, or on the 12th task, hindi ka na pwedeng bumalik sa 800. So, meron silang…

Philippe: What’s after 800?

Mclaine: 1,500, 3,000, 5,000, for us, meron pa silang around 90,000.

Philippe: So, when does that end? When do they scam you?

Mclaine: Hanggang one lang ako. Hindi na ako naglabas after. Nag-try ako ulit ng ibang agent na kasi when they found out, pag nag-skip ka ng… When you try 800, or when you skip the first one, so, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, on the 11th, kailangan mo na mag-invest.

Nag-skip ulit ako. Ang ginawa nila, they block me. They remove me. They remove me na dun sa GC. So, ako na, they warn me na, ah, hindi ka na nakapag-send ng ganito. Bakit hindi ka nag-send? Sabi ko, I don’t have the amount. Wala akong budget.

So, tumatas kasi yung range ng ano, ng like. So, kung yun ay 50 pesos, or 60 pesos per like.

Imagine, if that is 5 like, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So, may 250. So, dapat may 250 kasi sisingilin. Pero, i-hold nila yan kasi kailangan mo muna mag-process. Tapos, mayroon pa isa. Style Lazada type naman. So, may nag-message sa Telegram. I don’t know kung…

Mclaine: Kasi, same process, same procedure, different agent lang. So, ito, style Lazada naman. Ipapurchase mo yung product. Ipapurchase mo yun.

Tapos, after mo yung purchase, i-send mo yung link noong purchase. So, una, mababa. 1, 10, 200. So, on the third, first, ano nila, per batch, yung tatlo. First batch. So, mabababa lang. So, parang, oy, ganun lang pala. Ang balik noon, plus, 60 to 120 ang patong per product.

Mclaine: Depende ba mo yung sumisan sa product. Yung second batch, tumaas na. 500, 800, 1,000. So, yung 1,000, kinaya ko pa. Ang earning na yan, nasa 350 at the max. So, per item lang yun. Depende. So, on the third, ano na, batch. Ano ko, eto na yung mabigat. 2, 5, 3, 5, 5,000.

So, since kumita ako noong una, I purchased 800. Noong, yung dalawang sumunod, isang 3, 5, isang 15,000.

Mclaine: Oo. So, ganun yung system nila. Paulit-ulit, iba-iba.

Philippe: The scam is iba at the very at the very at the very start of that level. Kung ganun, no?

Mclaine: Which is parang ganun ang nangyayari. Ang mindset nila, ay, di nito kakayanin. So, doon sila kikita yung mga yung katulad nga 800 ko.

Philippe: Hindi na ibalik.

Mclaine: So, kita na. Automatic kita na. Which, wala naman silang ginawa. Kasi ginawa lang na, pinapurchase. E hindi mo nga din alam kung talagang nagpurchase or mampu-push through yan. Kasi nandoon yun sa platform nila.

Philippe: Why? These scammers are, parang, they’re in for it for the long ride. Parang it’s a long process para sa akin eh. Parang it’s too much to think about.

The last one I found, kasi I have a BDO credit card. I received a text na, Thank you for your purchase of, I think it was a MacBook Pro or something. Thank you for your purchase of a MacBook Pro, and ganyan, ganyan, ganyan. Demounting of, I think it was a hundred something thousand.

Philippe: Tapos, if you think this is an invalid purchase, please log in to BDO. Pero yung link, sabi ko, Noon na I was driving and I saw, What the? Ano to? Tinabi ko, sabi ko, Pagtingin ko yung link, Ah, yan yung mga na pop up from time to time. Sabi ko, in-open ko yung link.

I was just curious. In-open ko siya. Pero hindi ako nag-log in or anything. But you know, it’s the same exact, yung interface ng website ng BDO. It’s the same exact one. But when you log in, fake log in ano siya. Doon nila makakuha yung idea. Syempre ikaw, log in.

Philippe: Parang, ba’t hindi ko mag-ano. Not knowing, may naka-alert doon, sa back end. Wait, log in. Akala nila, log in, ma-receive sila ng OTP. Kasi new device, nag-log in. Pag nareceive nila yung OTP, I don’t know what happens there. Kasi it’s the receiver. How can these guys have, how can they see the OTP of this guy? Unless, kita siya. I don’t know how that works. But that one’s easier. Oh, dapat may five stage level.

Mclaine: At that time, medyo kumita ako. Nag-earn ako sa kanila.

Philippe: Well, at least, nakabawi ka.

Mclaine: At least, if you are wise enough. You get at least 120 from them, just for liking. The black man nila, okay, that’s enough. I have 120 for one day. Just for sitting and liking.

Philippe: Gosh, gosh, gosh. Easy money. Yan dapat sa mga medyo chooses trabaho. Yan dapat gawin nila. All day long. Cellphone, ano.

Mclaine: Yeah. Pero kung, yun nga. Kasi nga, may investment. So, doon. Doon ka ma-e-scam. If they are not aware, yung runaround nung system. Uy, kikita kami ganito.

Pag may nag-text sa’yo, nakikita ka na from 300 to 3,000 per day. That’s a scam. But if you are wise enough, you can gain from those scammers. You’re earning money. Pero, hindi siya daily. Hindi siya in a daily basis.

Philippe: Ano lang, parang, parang bonus level lang.

Mclaine: Yeah, bonus level lang.

Philippe: Bonus level lang.

Mclaine: So, yun. Anyway, doon sa mga nagtatrabaho na ano. Masyadong gusto nila yung easy money. Lately kasi parang nangyayari. Nakakalimutan nila yung yung traditional way na if you want something, you need to work for it.

Before, by the way, nung nag-a-apply, this was long ago na. Just to add up doon sa mga nag-a-apply ng trabaho. During yung time na nag-a-apply ako, during call center, meron din talaga ng mga nag-a-apply na nagtitrip lang.

Mclaine: Sumasabay doon sa, alam mo, parang yun yung ginagawa nilang pasyalan. Pero, kompleto sila. Complete sila ng requirements. From NBI, police clearance, barangay clearance. As in, name it, they got it. Ano, trip nila? Mag-a-apply lang. Mag-a-apply.

Philippe: Eh, hindi matutuloy?

Mclaine: No, iba. Nagtutuloy. During application, siyempre, akabang fila.

You get to know people, you get to know their side, kung bakit nag-a-apply. Nagkukwentuh na lang, because nabuboard na sila, so may kwento na lahat, may kwento na lahat, and you know something from them—kung ano yung nangyayari sa buhay nila, buhay aplikante.

Mclaine: Ano nangyayari? Hindi. Buhay trabaho. Buhay aplikante. For the longest time, parang lagi nalang sila nag-a-apply.

Philippe: Is this because nare-reject sila, o ayaw nila sa trabaho?

Mclaine: Merong iba na nare-reject. Merong iba na yun.

Philippe: So yun na re-reject?

Let’s go with the process. Hindi na ma tayo hiring, sige. Wala yung ginagawa yung trainer.

So pagpupunta yun nila, ah okay, come in.

Pwede naman, iwan nyo na po yung resume and then you may go. Kasi nag-aantay eh.

Mclaine: Imagine mo, ilang floor yung pupuntahan mo.

Either you’re hiring in the wrong companies, or hindi ka na-qualify. You’re hiring in the wrong companies, meaning you’re… Sorry, you’re applying in the wrong companies, meaning you’re applying in companies that you do not have skills for, or you’re applying for a job that you’re not qualified for.

Philippe: So there’s a difference. If you don’t have the skills, talagang hindi ka matatanggap. Now if you’re looking, you’re applying for a job, so for example, BISOR, we’re hiring a supervisor, right? But you have the skills of a lower level. Hindi ka talagang matatanggap.

So sabi ko, if I were you, kalimbawa, six months, agad nun, it’s a long time. Malas ka lang? I don’t think so. Apply where you think you’ll be qualified. So for example, kung naka-apply ka as manager, at hindi ka natanggap, and six months na, mabahag mo naman yung taste mo sa… yung gusto mo. Instead of manager, supervisor.

Kung hindi ka rin doon, go down to agent, or whatsoever. Or sales, or marketing.

But now, it’s in your state of mind, ay, hindi ako pang ganun. Siyempre may pride ako, diba? I think that’s where they… If it happens, let’s say it happens to me, kung talagang walang-wala, I’ll end up there na lang. And from there, mag-aangat na lang ako.

Philippe: Kasi at least andun na ako, diba? So talaga, if I have no choice, na kailangan ko na kumain, at kailangan ko pita, mag-basurero na lang ako. And then, doon sa basurero, mag-level up na lang ako doon. Magiging bisura ako ng basurero. No problemo. At least, nag-level up ka.

After that, baka gusto mo, pang qualified ka, maging truck driver. Level up, level up, level up. That’s a problem. People don’t want to go down, so they could go up. They want to always go up, but apparently, nare-reject sila. That’s my advice. If you can’t, if you’re getting rejected because of that, kasi gusto niya, merchandiser.

Kaya ayaw. Medyo ma-pride. Okay, sige. Yung nasa grocery, yung nag-aayos, yung stock inventory and all that.

Philippe: Ayaw naman. What’s wrong with going down there? Walang problema. Kailangan mo kumita.

E di from there, pwede ka nang umagad from there. Pakita mo na, masipag ka. Pakita mo na, talagang madiskarty ka. Ipo-promote ka nila. Pero syempre, matagal yan. Mga taon-taon din yan. These days, people are too choosy.

Philippe: They’re too demanding. They’re being influenced. Gullible pa. Uy, pwede kumita sa phone. Gamit lang phone lang. Ganito na ganyan. Scam pala. Uy, pwede ka ganito. It’s just like, ngayon, nangangarap sila ng magandang trabaho. Nakakatawa.

Naalala ko yung parang may konting ads ng, I think it was Lotto before.

Well, yeah. That’s… Anyway, anything you want to add to people being choosy at work or choosing work?

Mclaine: Well, since yung nabanggit mo kanina regarding sa sahod, doon pa yun sa nagkakataloy. Masyado yung pride. Kailangan talagang ibaba.

Ayaw mo ganon ka, men, six months? Hindi ko riyata kaya yun.

Philippe: Actually, tanong ko, how did you survive six months? Diba may ilan yung anak mo? Tatlo? Parang kayo nakaka ano six Months

Mclaine: At saka, imagine mo, compute mo yung gastos na nag-a-apply per day. Yung commute, yung oras, given na rin yung pera, if you have the money para mag-apply.

Philippe: I have two. I know two of these people. They’re not friends or not anything. But I’ve known them in separate, different times. First one worked in I think he worked in Japan. And parang siyang marketing director doon. In Japan, malaki yung sahod niya.

Since director siya, he was compensated about I think, kalahating million per month. Kinasal, bumalik, apply siya dito, marketing director. Yung skillset niya. He’s been applying for how many years na?

Who offers that? Who offers 250,000 minus minus taxes? And this was before pa. Tanggapin mo na. So hindi eh. In Japan, I used to get half a million.

Ngayon, I haven’t seen them in a long time. Message ko lang. I saw it on Facebook. Nakahanap ko ng work. Oh, okay naman. Dito naman, local. Oh, baka na naman, wondering, curious. 80,000. And this is 80,000 today. Today, like 2025. And he was being offered years way before the pandemic 230,000 after taxes.

Philippe: Look at you now. Wala ko sinabi. I didn’t say anything. But you missed out on the opportunity. Kung ba opportunity kayo? Ticket na. Now, that’s one. The other one, sort of the same case. Masyadong ma-pride. He thinks he values himself kasi consultant siya in another country.

Hindi ko naman magaling ka rin kasi I think it’s somewhere in the Middle East. Nasa around that range. Pero I think mas mataas, 600, 700,000. Pero mata. That’s big. Kasi it’s I think it was in Saudi. Tapos Nasa corporate siya. I can’t remember what position.

Philippe: Nasa corporate siya. I think it was in the finance or something. Pagbalik niya dito, he’s looking for the same also. Pero nobody in, I don’t, none, none, so far at corporate nobody’s paying a financial nasa finance department na parang head ng department nobody’s paying like 200 plus.

Parang baba pa. Parang nasa 100 plus lang. You know? Sabi ko ba, tumalis ka? Eh kinasala ko. Dito na ako. Pero it took him, I think after palang the pandemic nakakuha siya ng work from the pandemic, nag-stop. Kaya umuwi. Kinasal sila dito kasi pandemic.

Philippe: After five years nakakuha lang ang work 100 plus. If I were in their position and I need to eat construction worker, please. That’s fine. Basurero, that’s fine. Maglinis ang Kotse that’s fine. Importante may kita ako.

It’s your problem, I think it’s a different mindset. If you want if you want get what you need before you get what you want.

Regarding dun ano lang, yun yung yun yung naging tambayan nila since they meet different people I think it’s because they’re lonely and they want to just meet different people.

Philippe: Unless they’re scamming them too.

Pag tumalun ka meron ka freebie may free TV pa If I were to apply, o sige maroon akong English, Techie, ganoon If I were to apply, call center na ako Pero may laki ng bonus, sign up Totoo ba yung mga bonus? Ah, yung bonus na yan makukuha mo after certain months So really na 3 months pwede? 6 months.

Philippe: Pwede na yun atleast tumagal ka

Mclaine: Pero, there’s a catch If that’s 20,000, you don’t get it full May cut si may cut sila doon Yung hiring manager I don’t know So, hindi ko na experience Nagkweto lang sakin doon sa isang nakilala ko na HR.

Philippe: Nireklamo niya?

Mclaine: So, this was the time na pumutok yung sign-in bonus before kasi lumalabas, may lalabas agad nila eh Ang problem doon Naging wise yung mga agent eh Imagine mo kasi kung 20,000 yung sign-up bonus yung bigay agad

Pwede kayo na mag-awol for 1 month? Kasi yung 20,000, katambasan na isang buwang sakod mo doon sa isang sa isang trabaho o sa isang I think call centers are still BPO Forget call center, BPO in general, di ba?

Philippe: I think it’s, doon ang mag-apply Kung nawala na akong trabaho ngayon, okay lang I think, for my qualifications, doon na ako Babilis sila mag-process May HMO, di ba?

Mclaine: May work from home pa May papisi pa sila Doon na ako, di ba?

Philippe: BPO is still a strong industry

Philippe: I think BPO is still I think

Mclaine: I think Madami pa rin opportunity Pero talagang kailangan talaga yung Huwag talaga maging choosy

Philippe: Feeling ko kasi ano For example yung mga, for a different sector Kung sanay na sila sa work from home Hindi na yan babalik sa office base Unless mag-trip lang kasi na-miss niya mag-socialize Di ba?

Pero ako BPO. Yeah, highest paying, HMO, good benefits, may government benefits, sign-up bonus, HMO eh HMO, BPO na, BPO na. I think that’s the quickest, the fastest, high paying pa.

Mclaine: And then may training naman kasi, kaya kung… iba kasi natatakot pag sinabi nilang BPO. Call center, call center agad yung nasa isip nila, English, English agad.

Philippe: Hindi na nila naalam May back office, may chat room
